2017 Supporter of the Year – Chuck Nordyke from Vibra Hospital of Northwest Indiana

Chuck is constantly thinking of ways to give back – to the community, the staff, patients, their families. He never just does the job.  When the holidays come, Chuck always dresses up as Santa for the patients, staff and families.  For Easter we put on an Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the community, and he’s always adding more to our event, he has to buy more eggs and more prizes.  When you work for Chuck, you know he has your best interest at heart – if you voice interest in advancement, he wants to mentor you.  If you have a flat, he fixes it.  If you’re going through a difficult time, he’s willing to work with your schedule and accommodate in any way that he can.

He’s also a huge advocate for the mentally challenged, down syndrome and breast cancer.  In his past he volunteered at Opportunity Enterprises, and now he tries to incorporate their mission with ours, for example by purchasing items from their store for our holiday gifts.  He also organized the Jenny Lynn Foundation, in the hopes of keeping Jenny’s spirit alive and raise breast cancer awareness.  He sponsored the Bearcat Color Run for Union Township.  His passions are extensive, but he’s always looking for ways to give back, while doing his job, and he does this in all of his facilities, it’s just in his nature.
